土曜日は東京〜糸魚川でした。 僕が大好きなイベントです。 このイベントでライダーにとって多くの勉強になりました。 9回優勝できたけど5、6年ぶりに出ました。
スタートは午前4時50分です。 西谷さんとバンくんと一緒にスタート。 残念ながら大塚さんはDNSです。
朝5時スタートは超強いNarukeさん。
Saturday was Tokyo-Itoigawa. It is an event I love. It taught me so much. I was happy to win it 9 times before taking a 5 or 6 year break.
The start time is 4:50am. I will ride with Nishitani san and Ban. Unfortunately Otsuka san is DNS.
Starting at 5:00am is super strong Naruke san.
3、2、1ゴー！ 10kmほどの下り坂。 先頭で10kmくらい引っ張ります。 アベ 40 kph位けど、信号が延々と続くため、30 kph近くに落ちます！
最初の登りは西谷さんが先頭。 僕はは170HRです。 昨日のカーボローディングでお腹が重い！ この登りではいつも苦労します。 しかし、パイプオープナーのには最適です。
富士見峠まではハイペースで行きます。 今はバンが先頭になる。 ビッグリングの登りです。 彼はビッグリングクライマーです！ ペースは速い！。 それでも彼は僕を落とさないようにペースコントロールしている。 それでもKOMゲット！
3,2,1 go! Downhill for 10km. I pull for 10km. Average speed must be 40kph but the endless traffic lights drop it to almost 30kph.
Nishitani san is on the front for the first climb. I'm on 170HR. Heavy stomach after yesterday's carboloading! I always suffer on this climb. But it's perfect for opening the pipes.
Good speed all the way to Fujimi Pass. Ban is on the front now. It's a big ring climb. He is a big ring climber! He sets a blistering pace. Still he is holding back. Careful not to drop me. Still a KOM!
諏訪湖までの長い下り。 今度は僕が先頭でペースメーカーになる。 超高速の下り坂。
湖に近づくと西谷さんがフラットセクションの先頭になる。 険しい道。 しかし、彼の筋肉質な体格のおかげで、簡単に見えます。 まさにクラシックライダー！
The long fast descent to Lake Suwa. It's my turn to be on the front again. A super fast downhill.
Nishitani san is on the front on the flat as we approach the lake. A rough road. But his muscular physique makes it look easy. A real classics rider!
CP1を過ぎると次は栞峠「1000m」までです。 最初のセクションは 8% ですが、ピッチが最大 15% まで急になります。 ここでついていけないとわかっているので、みんなより先に出発して頂上で待ちます！
また長い下り。 西谷さんはエアロタックに入る。
Narukeさんが後ろからブリッジします。 10分後のスタートでレースリーダーになる。 素晴らしいエフォートです。
After CP1 next is Shiori Pass up to 1000m. The first section is 8% but has steeper pitches of up to 15%. I know I can't keep up here so I set out before the guys and wait at the top!
Another fast descent. Nishitani san is in an aero tuck.
Naruke san bridges from behind. The race leader on the road. An impressive effort.
松本で西谷さんが前に出る。 側溝ではアベ45kph。
長野方面に向かうにつれて道は良くなっていきます。 渓谷を通る美しい起伏のある道。
Narukeさんはただついていけばいいけど、先頭になって50kphで引っ張っているのです！
Nishitani san is on the front through Matsumoto. 45kph in the gutter.
The road improves as we head towards Nagano. A beautiful rolling road through the valley.
Naruke san could sit on. But he is on the front driving it at 50kph!
CP2 と自然休憩 (!) の後、Narukeさんと西谷さんは前にいる。バンくんとチェースオン！
高村さん、ヴラド、オリヴィエを迎えに行きます。 集団での楽しいおしゃべり。
「どこでこんな強い奴らを見つけたんだ！？」
「イーベイ！」
坂中峠が今日最大の試練となる。 30分前にカフェインジェルを飲みます。
After CP2 and a nature break (!) it's a big effort with Ban to get back to Naruke san and Nishitani san.
We pick up Takamura san, Vlad and Olivier. Some fun chatting in the bunch.
「Where did you find these strong guys!?」
「Ebay!」
Sakanaka Pass will be today's biggest test. I take a caffeine gel 30 minutes before.
ヘアピンに入るとバンくんが先頭になる。 西谷さんが続きます。 Narukeさんはペースを維持できない。 その後、ヴラドが上に上がります。 5人のライダーは登りで分かれた。 僕4位です。
彼らは峠の頂上で僕を待っています。 僕の仕事はまた下りですよね。
As we enter the hairpins Ban takes the front. Nishitani san follows. Naruke san can't keep the pace. Later Vlad will move up. 5 riders split up on the climb. Me in 4th place.
They are waiting for me at the top of of the pass. My job is the descent.
ビッグリングに入れて、 サドルから立って、「バン！ 」スポークが折れた！

バン、西谷さん、ヴラドには僕なしで続けてくださいと言いました。
サポートカーを呼びます。 長野は12km後方。 ホイールをそのまま乗って待つことにする。
Into the big ring. Out of the saddle. Bang! A broken spoke!
The rim rubs against the break pads. The tyre rubs against the chainstays.
I tell Ban, Nishitani san and Vlad to go on without me.
I call the support car. 12km behind in Nagano. I decide to ride on and wait for a wheel.
妙高へのダウンヒル。 Narukeさんが後ろから来る。 サポートカーも。
「スペアホイールはありますか？」
「ディスクブレーキだけ！」
「あああああ！」
新井から直江津へ。 とてもハードなで、時速20kphしか出ない所もある。 ブーンサッズに行って自転車を借りてみようと思うレベル！ がんばるしかない！
海岸線へ。 ちょっとした登りはまるで富士山のあざみラインみたい！名立で 壊れたホイールの80kmあとGOKISOホイールをゲット！
The descent to Myoko. Naruke san comes from behind. His support car too.
「Do you have a spare wheel?」
「Only disc brake!」
「Ahhhhh!」
Arai to Naoetsu. So hard, it's difficult to push 20kph at times. I think about going to Boon Suds and borrowing a bike! Push on!
On the coast road now. Nadachi. 80km on a broken wheel. The smallest climbs feel like Mt. Fuji's Azami Line! I get some GOKISO wheels here!
また乗れることになるとドキドキワクワク！ ポットホールにぶつかってパンクしてしまいました！ チューブラーに乗っていたので予備チューブはありませんでした。 またまたチームカーに連絡です！
パンク直して、フルガス糸魚川へ！
Excited to be riding again. I hit a pot hole and flat! No spare tubes as I was riding tubular. Another call to the team car!
Repair the flats. Full gas to Itoigawa!
ゴールでNarukeんと合流。 チャンピオンの素晴らしい走り！ おつかれ！
Meet Naruke san at the goal. A great ride by the champion! Otsukare!
移動時間は8時半。 いつものTOITOのロスタイムは 10 分~15分です。 今年は50分で、公式タイムは9時18分。
Moving time 8:30. Without mechanical problems, the lost time is usually 10 minutes. But 50 minutes this year with an official time of 9:18.
それでも5位(年齢1位)なら十分だよね！
Still it's enough for 5th place (1st place age)！
糸魚川市はサイクリングツーリズムの推進に力を入れています。 将来的には協力できることを願っています。
Itoigawa are working hard to promote cycling tourism. I hope we can collaborate in the future.
